Tinkerer

Often regarded as strange, unusual, and downright weird in Auveron society, tinkerers are nonetheless have proven to be some of the most useful individuals in modern society, responsible not only for minor improvements such as accurate clocks, mechanical lifts and doors, and weapon improvements, but also for impressive feats of engineering such as the airship transportation system.

Though often of the gnomish race, more and more non-gnome tinkerers have appeared throughout Auveron in the past few decades, and have learned to utilize the crafty craftspeople’s modpoints system in their weapons and armors, coining the naming of the GMP, or “gnomish modpoint” system.

Tinkerers are often curious, and are almost always up for a new mechanical challenge. The most skilled are able to create devices which seem almost impossible, but no spell of magical detection has ever identified a whiff of magic in their work, except for those who engage in runecrafting as well.
